Who We Are

Staples Enable started in 2022, when a bunch of high schoolers got together with a big idea: making quality prosthetic hands accessible for everyone in our community.

Fast forward to now, we are the first high school chapter of e-NABLE, a worldwide community of passionate volunteers that use the science of 3-D printing to make free and low-cost upper limb devices for children and adults in need.

Our Teams

Fundraising

This branch raises funds to acquire resources needed to 3-D print and assemble all the hands we send into the world: 3-D printers, filament, printer maintenance costs, and other miscellaneous resources.

Printing

The printing team works on rolling out the hands into production. Everything from tailoring hand designs for a certain person’s needs to finally printing and assembling the design is the responsibility of the printing team.

Our Latest Work

— Phoenix v2 Hand

The Phoenix v2 Hand is a wrist-powered prosthetic device. It utilizes a thermoformed gauntlet for a lighter, stronger, and more adjustable fit, and features a simplified assembly with thermoformable palm mesh and improved gripper box components. This version is a remix of the original e-NABLE Phoenix hand, optimized for ease of assembly and enhanced functionality. Ideal for users with a functional wrist, it allows for effective grasping motions by bending the wrist.
